Once you get to Sunset Beach, North Carolina, you’ll probably never want to leave. The area is absolutely beautiful, and the town is friendly. Regardless of whether you leave or not, though, you have to find some way to get around. There are lots of options, luckily, including walking, driving your own car, renting a car, or taking a taxi.
Sunset Beach, like many coastal towns, is very friendly for walkers, especially if you end up in a condo on the beach. Most of the small restaurants and shops you would need to get to will be just a quick walk away from your hotel or rental property, and, of course, you’ll be just steps away from the beach.
The Carolinas are within a short drive of lots of other American states, so many people simply drive their own cars in. Almost all of the hotels and rental properties in town have parking spaces, and some may even have carports or attached garages. Driving your own vehicle is definitely an option, especially if you only live a few hours away.
If you choose to fly into the Sunset Beach area, you can always rent a car to get around while you’re there. This is necessary if you’re going to be doing lots of traveling from one place to another or if you’re going to try to hit up every golf course in the area. You can find cars at the airport, and there are plenty of big name car chain rentals in the area, including Hertz and Enterprise.
There are also some taxi services in the area if you need to get around for just one day or if you simply need to get from the airport to your condo and back. The main taxi service used by people in Sunset Beach is called Calabash Cab and runs, as you might guess, out of the town of Calabash, which is right next to Sunset Beach.
